A tiny Vancouver-based marijuana company has won the lottery for the POT stock symbol, and seen its shares double as a result.
Weekend Unlimited, whose former symbol was YOLO (short for You Only Live Once) could start trading under the POT symbol as early as Monday on the CSE.
The POT Symbol used to belong to Saskatchewan company Potash Corp., and became available when they merged with Agrium Inc. in early 2018 to form Nutrien Ltd. (NTR).
Due to significant demand for the marijuana themed symbol, a lottery was held by the Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, along with the Canadian Securities Exchange and the Aequitas NEO Exchange.
