Tilray Inc (US:TLRY) and AB InBev (US:BUD) have taken the next step in bringing CBD- and THC-infused beverages to market.
The world’s largest brewer and cannabis heavyweight, TIlray formed a “research partnership” in December 2018 to look into the potential of the cannabis-infused beverage market in Canada. Via their joint venture, Fluent Beverage Company, the two partners have announced they plan to have CBD-infused drinks ready to bring to market in December.
Fluent’s CEO Jorn Socquet has stated that a formulation for CBD beverages has already been devised. However, creating a THC-infused product that is ready for market will require “more time”.
Few other details have been released. Socquet described the CBD beverages as “sparkling, slightly sweet, [and] translucent” and will not “taste like beer”.
No surprise there. Many beer-drinkers already say that about Budweiser products.
