Market analysis company ChineseInvestors.com, Inc. (OTCQB: CIIX) this morning announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ChineseHempOil.com Inc., will officially accept bitcoin payments. Per the update, consumers who buy hemp-based products, foods and beverages from the ChineseHempOil.com site will have the option to pay with bitcoin, in addition to more common payment methods such as debit cards and PayPal. “I am delighted to announce the addition of Bitcoin payment to the ChineseHempOil.com site,” Warren Wang, founder and CEO of CIIX, stated in the news release. “By providing advanced payment technology such as Bitcoin, consumers will benefit from cost savings, increased privacy and ease of use.” Noted as the first decentralized digital currency, bitcoin offers a wide range of potential benefits for both consumers and merchants, including a reduction in transaction fees as compared to more traditional digital payment methods and enhanced privacy options that eliminate the need to provide personal information when making a purchase.
